What are the charges for the classes?

Some classes are totally free. The cost of those classes is paid by a sponsor or provider. Some classes require a small administration fee. You need to check the details for the specific class details to determine if there are any fees charged.


How can I pay for any administration fees?

You may pay online using PayPal or your credit card. You may also send a check for any fees.


May I pay at the door?

Yes, but if the class is a sellout, you must pay to reserve your space or it could be subject to being reassigned.


What times do classes begin?

Normally classes begin at 8:30 AM. However, you need to check each specific class for variations to that start time. Sign-in usually begins 30 minutes prior to the beginning of class.


What if I have to cancel?

All pre-paid fees are subject to refund unless the class is a sellout. You may also apply your fees to a class scheduled at a later date.


What is the dress?

Business Casual or casual is appropriate. However, we recommend that you bring a light sweater or jacket as the room temperature is not always adjustable.


May I bring a laptop?

Yes, but we cannot guarantee access to an electrical outlet. If you are going to use your laptop to take notes, you need to arrive early to obtain a seat next to an outlet. The Jackson location will have ample electrical outlets.


May I audio record the session?

Yes, but only after asking and receiving permission of the instructor at the class. Video recording is not allowed.


Where are the classes located?

Unless otherwise indicated, the classes in Southaven are held at NWMAR, Jackson classes are held in the Cellular South Building in Madison and the Gulf Coast Classes are held at the Association Training Facility on Debuys Road. Specific directions and a map to the class locations are available on the registration forms.


Are your classes approved for CE in other states?

No, while we have classes approved for other states, classes taught in Mississippi are approved for MREC required Continuing Education only. However, you may apply your MREC approved hours towards Continuing Education requirements in states where you hold a license of reciprocity. It is the licensee’s responsibility to send proof of completion of Continuing Education to those states.


I need more than 16 hours of Continuing Education to activate my currently inactive license. Can I take the same course more than one time from the same instructor since it would apply to two separate licensing periods?

No, the MREC will not allow the licensee to duplicate courses in a “make-up” attempt to bring their licenses current.


Can I “carry over” extra CE hours into the next licensing period?

Yes, you can carry over a maximum of 6 MREC approved CE hours taken within the last 90 days of your current licensing period.
